Psycho-social Support is one of the major focus areas in our Child Protection program. The main objective of this program is to encourage behaviour change.
Psycho-social issues are addressed in order to enhance self-esteem and confidence that create positive change in behaviour. The program deals with behavioral issues in relation to HIV/ AIDS prevention, drug abuse, commercial sex, rape and reproductive health using activities such as scouting, acrobatics, music, life skills classes and exchange visits.
The program provides an environment where latent skills are identified, exploited and refined to enable the beneficiaries explore new opportunities outside Wema.
